DAY 2 – WORKSHOP

Building on ASPICE, Functional Safety, and QMS in Automotive Projects

01:00 PM – 02:50 PM

SPEAKERS

Abstract

ASPICE provides a proven foundation for disciplined software development, with structured processes for requirements, design, implementation, integration, and testing. Functional Safety, as defined in ISO 26262 Part 6, extends these practices by introducing safety-specific requirements, verification rigor, and traceability to hazards and safety goals.

This workshop demonstrates how organizations can leverage ASPICE-compliant processes to achieve Functional Safety objectives. Through side-by-side comparisons, participants will see how ASPICE SWE.1–SWE.6 processes align with ISO 26262 Part 6 activities, and where additional safety considerations must be integrated. For example, ASPICE requirements analysis (SWE.1) evolves into safety requirements specification, ASPICE architectural design (SWE.2) incorporates redundancy and freedom-from-interference, and ASPICE unit testing (SWE.4) expands into robustness and fault-injection testing.

Attendees will gain actionable insights into embedding safety analysis into ASPICE workflows, supported by practical templates, scoring matrices, and case examples from automotive and telecom implementations. By the end of the session, participants will understand how ASPICE maturity accelerates Functional Safety adoption, ensuring reliable, safety-compliant software systems.

This workshop is designed for practitioners, assessors, and leaders seeking to bridge ASPICE and Functional Safety, and to apply these lessons in real-world deployments.

Value

How This Workshop Provides Value

Clear Mapping & Comparisons
Participants will see a structured matrix that directly maps ASPICE SWE.1–SWE.6 processes to ISO 26262 Part 6 activities. This side‑by‑side view clarifies overlaps, differences, and integration points, making it easier to understand how process maturity supports safety objectives.

Actionable Tools & Templates
Attendees will discuss tools and templates they can apply in their own organizations to embed safety analysis into ASPICE workflows.

Practical Deployment Insights
Case examples from automotive and telecom implementations will illustrate how ASPICE maturity accelerates Functional Safety adoption in real-world projects, bridging theory with practice.

Accelerated Learning Curve
By aligning ASPICE capability levels with ISO 26262 safety lifecycle stages, participants gain a faster path to compliance and maturity, reducing the trial‑and‑error often seen in siloed deployments.

Audience-Specific Relevance

Practitioners: Learn how to embed safety requirements into daily ASPICE activities.
