Summary
With 30 years of experience in the automotive industry, (a big TIER1 supplier) I have worked across production test equipment, engineering for mass storage devices, quality control of map data, and global purchasing of data for automotive applications.
Throughout my career, data has been a constant companion — in production, development, quality control, and procurement. As a data enthusiast with an engineering mindset, I became increasingly convinced that reactive measures are not enough. Data quality must be addressed preventively, systematically, and with the same discipline already applied to software.
This led to the idea of creating an assessment model for data, inspired by SPICE: Software out, Data in. Software and data belong together — one without the other has limited value.
