Abstract
The automotive industry is rapidly transitioning into the era of the SDV, where software complexity and connectivity are increasing at an unprecedented pace. At the same time, cybersecurity risks are escalating: in 2024 alone, critical automotive-related vulnerabilities increased by approximately 41%, highlighting the urgent need for stronger and more integrated governance frameworks.
How can organizations ensure they are prepared to face these emerging challenges? The adoption of an Integrated Management System is a fundamental step in this process, ensuring alignment between regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal commitments across multiple domains.
This keynote explores the foundations of such an approach. First, it provides an overview of the evolving regulatory and standards landscape, including relevant laws, regulations, and frameworks that shape cybersecurity, safety, and quality expectations in the automotive sector. The presentation then examines the driving forces behind organizational transformation, described through three complementary flows: technological need, external demand, and self-commitment.
Building on this perspective, the session offers a practical view on integrating multiple management system perspectives for automotive product development, including:
- ISMS – Information Security Management System
- CSMS – Cybersecurity Management System
- QMS – Quality Management System
- PSMS – Product Safety Management System
Finally, the keynote highlights the strategic role of Automotive SPICE® for Cybersecurity as an enabling framework for supporting and structuring an integrated management system. By aligning process capability with organizational governance, ASPICE CS can help organizations strengthen resilience and ensure readiness for the cybersecurity and safety challenges of the SDV era.
